I really enjoy your website. I just recently traveled to the Normandy region. To Caen and Omaha, Juno & Sword beaches. I really love WWII history and it was amazing.

Fred, I am Michael Accordino. I landed on DDay, Omaha Beach 1st wave with the 299th Engineer Combat Battalion. Our objective blow the beach obstaclesfor the following waves. June of 2004 I returned to Normandy for the 60th Anniversary of DDay. In the city of Ste Mere Eglise I met and had a pictur taken with a women, who I found a few weeks ago to be, Marie Pinhas. I tried unsuccesfully to find her address,on the internet and seeking help from an acquaintance in the Belgian Embassy. I would appreciate if you or someone reading this message can help me in this matter. Thank you, Michael

"Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I have been searching for years to try and find out. I keep hoping they dig up his plane or find the wreckage in the sea. I came by your web site by chance and bless you for the good work you do showing how much we owe these people."

My friend Fred Vogels from the Netherlands is a brilliant music composer and arranger. I hope some day he can compose music for an Indian film. If you follow his music, it often does not have vocals, but the music relaxes you. You never know -- if one day you hear his mmusic or sound track in an Indian film. Who knows:)

I have just joined this interesting and informative wesite. As an organiser of a 60th anniversary event myself I appreciate all the hard work people put in to websites and contacting members etc. Our event is in 6 days and so is our wedding, so I am extremely busy to say the least! Our event is being held for the veterans and over the past 14 months I have met some wonderful people, veterans, re-enactors, organisers etc. I hope to get to know some of you from this site and would like to say to Fred, you are a truly amazing person - keep up the good work and I hope to pop in often to this site. All the best Marie-Karen

I give thanks to God, as a living survivor of Omaha Beach, Medical Detachment, 16th. Infantry, 1st Infantry Division, I am humbled by the tremendous sacrifices and service by all who stormed the beaches of Normandy on D-Day. May God bless the memory of all who gave their lives that day, and all who have since passed on!

Super job you did on the bio record of my father. Thanks for all of this. I feel the work you do here is so very important,as it is a part of history, and we hope we never have to revisit it, but at the same time we must pay homage to those who fought and died, and those who survived such perils. Let us never forget.........thanks again

I did not think I would have the time to write a recommendation for Fred this week because I have my recital coming up on Sunday Dec 4... However I started to look at one of the videos that he put music on... and it was AMAZING... Previously I watched a war video with his music ... and it was extremely compelling.. but never in the way... The video I watched right now about aging disease (Cockayne disease) was very powerful. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOVWAODzJkY (you need to be able to speak/understand Dutch for it though) You almost don't notice the music but it's there and enhances the story. I watched Night and Fog (nuit et brouillard) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXWlIgWEPmI a while ago and the music is extremely compelling... I cried. I recommend Fred for any projects like that!
